Pauline Brown is a Senior Lecturer at the Harvard Business School, where she teaches a new interdisciplinary course called “The Business of Aesthetics.” Prior to Harvard, Pauline spent her entire career, acquiring, growing and leading premium global brands. Most recently, she was the Chairman of North America for LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, where she provided regional leadership for about 70 brands in 5 sectors, including fashion & leather goods, perfumes & cosmetics, watches and jewelry, wines & spirits and selective retailing. Prior to LVMH, Pauline was a Managing Director at the global private equity firm, The Carlyle Group, where she specialized in investments in the consumer and retail sectors. Before Carlyle, she held senior executive roles in leading cosmetics companies, including Avon and Estee Lauder. Pauline began her career as a Management Consultant at Bain. She is a Henry Crown Fellow of The Aspen Institute, and she serves on the boards of directors of the Parsons School of Design, Urban Zen Foundation and Pioneer Works Center for Art and Innovation. She earned an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Dartmouth College and is member of the Executive Alumni Councils at both schools.
